How can I be playing against a player I know is not currently online while in tournament mode?

When you play our games in "Tournament Mode," you are not playing against another player simultaneously engaged in game play. You are pitted against that player's most recent score. While your "interaction" may not be in real time, it is a legitimate reflection of the actual scores earned in friendly competition.
